Thoughts on womanhood, relationships, the messy parts of life, and all the little moments in between.

Hello and welcome to the Stone Harbor Therapy Blog. My name is Mary Claire Kerwin, LCSW, therapist and founder of Stone Harbor Therapy and the author behind these pages. I’m so glad you’re here!

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a therapist, not a writer. These posts are simply a place for me to share thoughts, reflections, and a little of what I’ve learned along the way about being human and being a woman. They are also thoughts on relationships, loss, anxiety, change and all the complicated seasons that life can bring.

My hope is that somewhere in these pages, you find something that makes you feel understood, gives you something to think about, or simply reminds you that you are not alone. So, pour yourself something warm, get comfortable, and let’s talk about life and womanhood.

What Does Therapy Actually Look Like?

If you’ve never been to therapy, it’s natural to wonder what actually happens once you sit down and start talking. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s a place to begin understanding yourself, your experiences, and what you want to change.
