Therapy for Women Navigating Anxiety and Stress in Garner, North Carolina
and New York
Hello… I’m
Choosing a therapist is about more than credentials and experience. It’s also about finding someone you feel comfortable with — someone whose approach, personality, and perspective feel like a good fit. When you’re with me, I want you to feel at home. Here’s a little more about who I am, what I believe, and what you can expect when we work together.
What It’s Like to Work with Me… in Garner, NC or NYC
Therapy with me is a conversation. I’m warm, engaged, and genuinely interested in understanding who you are and what has brought you here. You won’t find me sitting quietly… I want to engage with you. I’ll ask questions, offer perspective, and help you notice patterns and possibilities that may be difficult to see on your own.
I believe there is room in therapy for both depth and lightness. We can talk about the hard things while still making space for humor, hope, and the parts of life that are going well. My approach is collaborative and practical, but never one-size-fits-all. I will design a plan that works specifically for you. Together, we’ll figure out what feels meaningful and useful for you.
Most importantly, you don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You can come exactly as you are, and we’ll start from there.
I believe our lives are shaped by the stories we carry — where we’ve been, what we’ve experienced, the people we’ve loved, and the things we’ve had to overcome. But I don’t believe those stories have to determine what comes next.
I believe people are capable of growth and change throughout their lives. Sometimes that means letting go of something that no longer fits. Sometimes it means rediscovering parts of ourselves we’ve lost along the way. And sometimes it simply means learning to see ourselves with a little more understanding and grace.
I believe therapy can give us the space to make sense of where we’ve been, become more intentional about where we’re going, and feel more at home in the life we’re creating.

Spent many years working closely with Active Duty Service Members and their families, supporting them through trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, major life changes, and the unique stresses of military life. This work gave me a deep appreciation for the impact that our experiences, relationships, responsibilities, and transitions can have on our emotional well-being.
Provided therapy and behavioral health support within a primary care setting, with a particular focus on women navigating fertility concerns, pregnancy, birth-related trauma, postpartum adjustment, anxiety, depression, and other significant life transitions. Working alongside medical providers allowed me to support women through the emotional as well as physical aspects of these experiences, while helping them feel understood and supported during some of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.
Worked closely with Service Members facing serious health concerns, trauma, and significant life changes, helping them navigate both the emotional impact of their experiences and uncertainty about what came next. I provided therapy and support as they adjusted to changes in health, identity, relationships, careers, and the transition from military to civilian life, while also providing clinical guidance and supervision to other social workers.
Provided therapy and support to children, adolescents, parents, and families navigating emotional, behavioral, relationship, and family challenges. My work included helping families through difficult or stressful circumstances, supporting parents in understanding and responding to their children’s needs, and collaborating with schools, community professionals, and other resources to help families find the support they needed.
Worked with adults, children, couples, and families during some of the more difficult periods in their lives, including experiences of trauma, abuse, relationship struggles, and family challenges. Much of my work centered on helping people feel safe, supported, and better able to understand and move through experiences that had affected both them and the people they loved.
Why I Still Do This Work
Let’s be honest… I’ve been doing this work for a long time. I’m comfortable enough to admit that I really don’t know my life as an adult without being a therapist. And, honestly, I wouldn’t want to.
I still feel incredibly fortunate to have found a career that I both love and am pretty darn good at. But most importantly, it’s the work itself that I still have a passion for. I feel incredibly honored that people trust me with their stories.
Over the years, I’ve worked with people during some of the most difficult and uncertain times in their lives. I’ve sat with people through loss, trauma, fear, complicated relationships, major transitions, and moments when they simply couldn’t see what came next. You might think that after so many years of doing this work, it would feel routine or that I would lose the compassion for people’s stories. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
I’m still moved by how much people quietly carry. I’m still amazed by their capacity to change, heal, begin again, and sometimes discover parts of themselves they had forgotten were there.
I also know now that therapy isn’t about simply “fixing” a problem. Sometimes it’s having a place where you don’t have to be the strong one. Sometimes it’s finally saying something out loud. Sometimes it’s understanding why you feel the way you do. And sometimes it’s simply having another person beside you while you figure out what comes next.
If you feel ready, I’d love to take that journey with you.
